Charlotte Canion is a multifaceted miracle: mother, sister, mentor, friend, and grandmother of eighteen. Born in a small Arkansas town, she grew up in Texas, where everything is bigger than life. Like her parents, she combines the most useful ideas from many different areas in order to excel. Her mother came from a strong Christian family. Her dad lost his mom at the age of two. Both of them provided a set of values and perseverance that has served Charlotte well.
Charlotte has bought and sold several businesses over the years, from a shop in a strip mall to managing twenty-five women in the spokes modeling industry. Charlotte recently retired from a large corporation where she worked in the event planning department. Never found sitting around, she is now the CEO of a new start-up business selling a new product she invented. Charlotte has had several published stories and poems and has a new book coming out by the end of the year called You have to Laugh to Keep from Crying: How to Parent Your Parents.
Charlotte is the “go-to” person, the one to go to whenever a problem needs solving. One of Charlotte’s passions is gardening. She is a Master Gardener, and as such, she volunteers her time teaching and winning awards in the gardening arena. She has served on many boards and associations as a member and as president. Charlotte has had personal experiences with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s diseases. For many years, Charlotte has wanted to write her stories, and since the death of her mother last year, now is the time to share her experiences with the world, hoping she can ease the pain that many will inevitably endure.
